Octopath Traveller, First Impressions

If you've played Octopath Traveller, you know it's difficult to choose the character you'll begin your adventure with. There are eight heroes to choose from, each one with a goal and play style unique to themselves.

After reading each characters intro, I decided to start the game with Cyrus the Scholar. He reminds my of Professor Layton or Doctor Lautrec. He is a scholar in pursuit of knowledge, he isn't interested in a relationship or other things, he just wants to recover a los ancient book that was stolen from the library in his town. I dig that type of story. So I begin the game, and its simple but fun. I eagerly play through his intro, and I get to the next character their story begins.
Cyrus the Scholar uses the basic triangle of Elemental Magic: Fire, Ice and Thunder.

Now this is kind of a downer, I want to get all characters, but having to play each story kind of clouds each others path, so I recommend you play this game in a short time. If you dilly dally to long, you'll forget your first (probably favorite Character events.

So far I've got the following characters: Cyrus, Olberic, Primrose and Tressa. So far the game is a 5/10 from me, but I'm only just beginning.

PS. This game would benefit greatly by having a Bestiary, I'm surprised they left it.

Celica: Warrior Priestess

Good morning y'all.

Today I want to talk to you about Celica. She is a character from the Fire Emblem Series, that appears in Fire Emblem Gaiden, Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, and Fire Emblem Heroes (with a small Fire Emblem Awakening DLC treat for us fans.)

On this Tuesday (August 21, 2018), We were regaled with a New Banner for Fire Emblem Heroes, with 4 of the most favorited characters from the franchise. There's already been an event like this, and the Heroes chosen were: Lyn, Ike, Roy, and Lucina. This time we've got Hector, Ephraim, Veronica, and Celica, which is the one well talk about today.

The art is made from the Artist that did all the designs in Fire Emblem Echoes, Hidari. I love this artist's style. He achieves a classic look while also making each character look modern. Ha makes good poses demonstrating each individuals personality and is also good with his color palette.

He achieved something else with Celica's design with the Brave Version of the character. He used the original outfit utilized in the first game she appeared in, Fire Emblem Gaiden, waaayyy back in 1992, for Japanese audiences only. Below Is a comparison of then and now.

I love when an artist can pull an old 90's style and succeed. Even though I prefer the last design,(pictured below) But I respect Hidari for his talent.

Till next time. See ya.

Arrival of the Brave

I can't believe we're at the Second Brave Heroes Event already. Time sure goes by fast.

We've got Hector, Celica, Ephraim and Veronica, from Fire Emblem Heroes.

Veronica, Brave Princess

I decided to choose first the Free Unit, and went along with Veronica. I like her original design (this design looks good, but not great. I also wanted to escape Colorless Hell if I can Help it. I tested her and she's great for supporting your other team members, but alone she is pretty weak.

Then I began to Summon, and on my first try I landed Brave Hector (-HP, +Def, Meh). He's a pretty good Armored Unit, as one would expect from Brave Heroes.

I still need Celica and Ephraim. Hopefully I get at least one of them.

Overall... I didn't love this set. When the first Brave Heroes appeared, I was so excited. I loved all of their artwork and their Skills. It also helped that we've got a live action video with people doing cosplay and a Black Knight.
Hector, Brave Warrior

Still, I still love the game and can't wait to continue growing my collection.

Till next time.
Cheers!
